The honorary captains Patrick Peterson and J.J. Watt will be leading two teams that are closely matched, but with vastly different playing styles. Be there to see the fireworks when the Tigers and Badgers butt helmets at the Advocare Texas Kickoff this coming Saturday. The LSU Tigers Don’t Lose Openers

Les Miles, LSU head coach, has some serious cred when it comes to playing season openers. He’s never lost one. Not only that, he’s never lost a game against ranked, non-conference teams in the regular season. That’s some pretty serious mojo for the Badgers to overcome.

But if there’s any team that can do it, it just might be the Badgers. Ranked just behind LSU in the AP’s pre-season Top 25 College Teams (Wisconsin sits at 14, with LSU at 13), it’s obvious that the Badgers and the Tigers both bring serious skills and advantages to the game.

Hotly Anticipated

Bleacher Report is calling the LSU-Tigers matchup one of the most hotly anticipated games of the year for multiple reasons, not the least of which is a chance to see LSU freshman Leanord Fournette step out onto the college gridiron for the first time. Fournette was the country’s most sought-after high school football recruit last year. Widely regarded as the fastest player on LSU’s roster (and pretty far up there on the national scale, too), Fournette will be taking the field for the first time in his college career under the lights at Houston’s NRG Stadium.

Meanwhile, LSU is quietly being pushed as a possible dark horse contender for a slot in the College Playoffs by a number of sports pundits. Saturday’s game against Wisconsin will be their debut, and you don’t want to miss it.
