Green Bay Packers Will Come Back Stronger After Game 1 Loss

Ouch! It’s been a couple of days, but Packers fans are still reeling from what one sportswriter called a “nightmare of an opening night.” When the Green Bay Packers faced off against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday night, there wasn’t a lot of good news for the Packers. On the other hand, Green Bay has never let a little adversity stop them, and Packers fans are easily among the most loyal of any team in the entire league. If anything, the team’s disastrous showing against the Seahawks is likely to spark a rally among Wisconsin fans, so if you thought Packers tickets would be easier to get, you’ve got another thing coming. If you want to be there in the stands to help boost spirits and root the Packers on to victory, head on over to our ticket listings and find tickets to all the Packers’ regular season games before the best seats are all snapped up.

The Ouch! Factor

The Seahawks went into Thursday night’s game as heavy favorites. They’re the defending Super Bowl champions, and have the acknowledged best defensive team in the league. Not only that, Seattle hasn’t lost a home season opener since 2003. The betting lines had the Seahawks as 5.5 favorites – but over at SBNation, the computer predicted a 33-21 Seahawks victory. It was worse than that. When the dust settled at the final whistle, the Packers were lying in the dust amid the wreckage of a 36-16 loss to the defending champs.

Even worse than that, though, were the possible lingering effects that could cast a shadow over the whole season. Bryan Bulaga, the Packers most-respected offensive player, could be out of the game for who knows how long after re-injuring his knee, and Eddie Lacy took a head hit which may take him out of the lineup until he passes the league’s concussion protocol. Those injuries, along with a few others suffered during the game, could wreak havoc with Green Bay’s chances at a Super Bowl slot.

Coming Back Bigger and Better

Like we noted, though, Packers fans have never let bad news dampen their spirits. If there’s any team that has the home town’s full support, it’s this one, and the team reflects that support by playing every game as if it was the most important game of the season. Which is to say, the Packers had a rough opening game, but all the reports of their demise are greatly overstated. There’s a whole season ahead, and you can bet the Packers will be a force to reckon with throughout its remainder.
