Broncos Start the Season with a Bang Disproving Traditional Wisdom

So it’s a thing in football that last year’s Super Bowl loser ends up with a lousy season the next year – kind of a year-long hangover effect. If that’s the case, the Denver Broncos are not your typical second-place finisher. They came out the gate hitting hard and took their first game with a very respectable 31-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts. If that’s a harbinger for the upcoming season, it’s a great one – and it’s also a hint that you’d better grab your tickets to upcoming Denver Broncos games now because those babies are going to go like hotcakes in the team dining hall. Don’t forget – we’ve got all the best seats at all the stadiums the Broncos will be playing this year.

We Are #1!

Yeah, it’s just the first game, but the Broncos are riding high as the number one team in the AFC West, and GM John Elway thinks the team’s got what it takes to go all the way this year. They were an energetic young team with great prospects, but new additions to the roster have given them depth and breadth – and gravitas – they didn’t have before. They’ve signed superstar Peyton Manning, as well as solid players like DeMarcus Ware, AqibTalib and T.J. Ward. These veteran players bring more than their skills to the team – they bring a sort of no-nonsense drive to get it done. Under their influence, the whole team has pulled together and solidified into a team to reckon with.

Welker Blues Lifting?

The Broncos did end the summer practice season with a down note with the suspension of wide receiver Wes Welker, which could cast a pall over the line. However, as the league debates changes to the drug policy, it’s looking more and more like Welker will be back in place long before the season ends, and the Broncos are keeping options open to welcome him back with open arms.

Favorites to Win the Super Bowl

In fact, despite the silly sayings about Super Bowl losers, sports betting site Bovada has the Denver Broncos tied with the Seattle Seahawks as favorites to take the 2015 Super Bowl. The Broncos have the acknowledged strongest offensive line in football, and their off-season acquisitions deepen their defensive line and make it really competitive. We wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see the Broncos playing in the Super Bowl again this year.
