Where to Stay for the NCAA Final Four

The Men’s Final Four Championship games are being held at Houston’s NRG Stadium on April 2nd and April 4th. You can get tickets for Session 1 on April 2nd, Session 2 on April 4th, or for both sessions with a Final Four All Sessions Pass which will get you into all the games. No matter which way you go, if you’re coming in from out of town, you’re going to need a place to stay. These five hotels are close enough to walk to the NRG Center.

Comfort Suites Medical Center Houston

Just two-tenths of a mile from the NRG Center – that’s only about a block away – the Comfort Suites is a mid-level hotel that offers fridge and microwave in every room, free Internet access and a free hot breakfast buffet in the morning. There’s an outdoor swimming pool and a workout room for relaxing before or after the game, and many restaurants within walking distance.

Holiday Inn South Loop Houston

A bit further way at four-tenths of a mile, the Holiday Inn does offer a free shuttle to all local attractions, including the NRG Center. There’s also a restaurant and lounge on premises, free parking and free Internet in the room.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Medical Center Houston

Nominally, the Crowne Plaza is further from the NRG Center than the others, but practically, it’s across the street, just a short walk away. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to all attractions within 5 miles, a heated outdoor swimming pool and exercise room, and two restaurants on the premises. It’s also the hotel you want if you’re planning to bring Fido along – the others are absolutely no-pets.

Extended Stay America Hotel La Concha

If you’re looking for budget lodgings, the America is a good bet. At four-tenths of a mile distance, it’s within easy walking distance of the NCAA Men’s Four stadium, but it also offers a free shuttle. There’s a nominal charge to have a pet with you in your room, free Internet and a kitchen in every studio suite. It’s also the only one of the top five hotels near the NCAA Men’s Final Four Championship games that doesn’t specifically state that it’s smoke-free, if that enters into your calculations.

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Main Street

Just over half a mile from NRG Center, the Holiday Inn Express has no shuttle, no swimming pool and no pets – but it does have the lowest room rates around. It also has a free hot breakfast buffet, free parking and free Internet, as well as a refrigerator and microwave in every room.
